There was a sprig of leaves that fell off of the Live Oak tree and I liked the shadows it made on the concrete driveway. I decided to take a photo and use it as the base for some digital experiments. I was pleased with the way this particular one turned out as it was so different from a color perspective of any other piece I’d worked on. It was subtle, yet magical in some way. It reminded me of a childlike world where pale colored gems were common, but there was a sophistication of sorts as well.
