This was an experiment with a photo of a beautiful plumeria in our garden that I wanted to use as the basis for a piece. It was not an easy image to use in the type of work that I do, but this particular variation resonated with me. I think it works best at a distance as pareidolia seems more prevalent then. I hope you like.
Smoke Blossom
This piece started as a photo of a white daylily blossom and I applied various filters and enhancements to achieve the final smoky, almost art nouveau, effect.
Texas Star White | Moody Blues
This piece was created from a photo of a White Texas Star Hibiscus flower that I took in our Moon Garden. I layered and manipulated the image to include other colors and textures and give it more dimensions and interest. Color variations stemmed from inverted versions of the original photo and I pushed the saturation a bit to pull out the blue hues.
Ginger Blossoms | Meditation
When I walked into our moon garden there was an amazing fragrance that pull me towards it, these ginger blossoms were the source. I was given these from my sister from another mother, Anjali Desai, and they have been multiplying nicely in our garden. I was no enamored by their blooms that I had to use them as a focal element in one of my works.
Lichen Guardian
This piece was created from a photo that I took in Switzerland of the lichen all over the trees there. In mirroring parts of the image, a creature appeared, from a pareidolia perspective and that is how this piece got it's name.
